Our client faced significant challenges with its current electronic data interchange (EDI) system, which facilitates the electronic exchange of insurance documents between computers.  One major issue was the frequent non-arrival of health claim files, resulting in a lack of exchange.  Additionally, when files were successfully received, they proved difficult to monitor and track, often becoming lost within their systems.  This led to a decline in data quality due to recurring errors, resulting in wasted time and additional resources.

Our client is an American supermarket with more than 90+ years in retail with more than 540 supermarkets and have an online shop.

Client Challenge

Our client needed a better way to send transaction files and messages from the head office to each individual store and receive them back.  The supermarket chain wanted a reliable and flexible method of sending vital communication, and price updates, along with visibility and reporting into the file transfers themselves.  Our client did not have a tool to monitor the transfers and the agents. Client Challenge

Our client faced challenges in updating billing details related to life events changes, such as removing beneficiary in an event of death/divorce or adding the beneficiary in cases like birth or marriage.

The existing approach, which heavily depended on IT teams and manual processes utilizing Excel, proved inefficient, prone to errors and slow.   

Recognizing the need for improvement, the goal was to boost efficiency, automate processes, and guarantee accuracy in handling customized billing details and schedules.

Leveraging the adaptability of Python – an agile, open-source programming language – the solution minimized dependence on external software and DevOps to make changes.  Its scalable design establishes a foundation for future integrations with Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence.

This involved setting up new output layouts and formats for new clients, adjusting existing layouts, generating new data fields through a combination of existing ones or applying masking, establishing schedules, and configuring delivery methods such as MQ, FTP, JSON, and XML – all accomplished without the need for IT intervention.  Additional encryption was added to ensure extra security to protect customer information.
